Behind the Wheel: Our First 1-Hour Gran Turismo Live Group Course

Welcome to the track-side story of our first-ever 1-Hour Gran Turismo Live Coaching Course! This isn’t just about laps and apexes—it’s about collaboration and learning. Strap in for the ride as we share what went right, what needs tweaking, and a few fun surprises along the way.

A Humble Beginning: Thank You, Volunteers!

First off, we owe a massive thank you to our brave volunteer participants. These wonderful souls jumped into our Discord and signed up to test our new group coaching format. Your enthusiasm, patience, and insightful feedback made this experiment possible, and we couldn’t have done it without you.

How Does a 1-Hour Group Coaching Course Work?

Our vision was simple: create a coaching experience that combines expert advice with an interactive group setting.

The course is designed for up to six participants, led by Coach Blayke, a motorsport wizard. Not only is he a champion in North American competitions, but he’s also a real-life racing driver. If anyone can guide you through the treacherous twists of Spa or the relentless demands of Red Bull Ring, it’s him.

The format we envisioned:

  1. Theory: Coach Blayke analyzes the participants’ laps, which they submitted beforehand.
  2. Practice: Participants hit the virtual track (in this case, the Red Bull Ring) for live feedback and hands-on coaching.

Simple, right?

Lap Submissions Begin: The Excitement Builds

Participants were asked to send in their laps, either via Google Drive or directly through the game. Coach Blayke gleefully dove into analyzing every corner, braking point, and throttle application.

The Big Day: Green Light for the Course

When Saturday rolled around, excitement filled the (virtual) air. Some participants even showed up early, which led to an impromptu warm-up session with Coach Blayke.

And then, we were off.

Theory: More Than We Bargained For

The first lap analysis set the tone:

  • Everyone agreed the car we chose was tough to handle (whoops), but that just meant more to learn.
  • Topics covered: braking points, trail braking, ideal cornering techniques, assist settings, and more.

But here’s where things got really interesting.

It wasn’t just Coach Blayke explaining everything—our students became co-teachers! One participant shared a trick for displaying telemetry on-screen to better analyze laps, sparking a lively discussion that everyone benefited from.

The hour flew by in this back-and-forth exchange of knowledge. Before we knew it, we’d blown through the entire theoretical segment… and hadn’t even touched the practice session.

Practice Session: Better Late Than Never

Determined to give everyone track time, Coach Blayke extended the session. Not all participants could stay, but those who did jumped into the action.

And here’s where the fun really began.

One participant managed to beat Coach Blayke in a race—cue the friendly banter. “I had to keep you honest there,” Blayke joked after taking the win back in the next race. Turns out, even pros don’t mind being challenged… as long as they get their revenge.

Lessons Learned: Iterating for the Future

We wrapped up the session with lots of smiles, laughs, and invaluable feedback from our participants. Here’s what we learned:

  • Theory is important, but practice is crucial. We need to ensure future courses balance both segments better.
  • Community makes it special. The camaraderie between participants made the course more than just a lesson—it became an experience.
  • Time flies when you’re having fun. An hour feels short for everything we want to cover, so we’re exploring ways to maximize value for future sessions.

Final Thoughts: Thank You for Being Part of the Journey

This course was more than just an event—it was a learning experience for all of us at Coludi. From seeing participants help each other to watching Coach Blayke guide with humor and expertise, we couldn’t have asked for a better start.

To everyone who joined, submitted laps, asked questions, or offered feedback: thank you from the bottom of our hearts. You’re helping us create something truly special.

Here’s to more courses, more laps, and more learning. See you on the track!
